The Madness of Migraine

Updated: Oct 18, 2020

You know its coming...it seems as if there is nothing you can do but wait until it hits with all its fury. Another migraine is getting ready to level you. Help can be on the way, if you have the right person to call. According to migrainetrust.org, migraine is the third most prevalent disease in the world, and effects women at a rate three times higher than men. Did you know that Physiotherapy can be used to battle migraines and reduce the frequency and severity of episodes? I have undergone advanced training, education and certification from the American Institute of Balance, designating me an expert in the employment of specialized techniques that provide patients with near instant improvement, and give them long term reductions in symptoms. I can use a combination of electrotherapeutic trigger point dry needling, cervical mobilizations, mechanical cervical traction, and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization in my Peebles clinic to get you on the road to freedom from your migraine. Please know that there are many practitioners who may be using some of the techniques I have mentioned, but very few will have the specific specialized training to be using them in the safest most effective way possible. Never be afraid to ask your healthcare providers how and when he or she learned any procedure or skill and which regulatory body "certified" their skills. You will want to know how frequently he or she uses any method with success, and what about your situation has made him or her decide which methods are likely to work for you. A healthcare provider who has obtained proper certifications for the methods they advertise should be able to tell you in detail how they have become an expert. Don't let migraine control your life, and don't ever let a doctor tell you that you "have to live with it". Less than 50% of migraine patients are satisfied with conventional treatment. The majority of sufferers self-medicate using over-the-counter medication and do not seek medical help.* Seek help from the right person. We can manage your migraine together and you can get back to living your best life.

Be Well,

Chad
